Program Facilitator (Community Education) (Independently Funded)


Distinguishing Career Features:

The Program Facilitator is responsible for the efficient and effective performance of a freestanding, grant funded, or contract funded program that enhances the Colleges exposure to and retention of specific student populations such as, but not limited to, skilled trades, continuing education, foster parents, first generation college, low income, and other targeted students. Prospective incumbents must demonstrate success in working with a wide range of students of varying ability and background, including economically, socially, and culturally disadvantaged persons and those of different ethnic backgrounds. Incumbents must also demonstrate the ability to lead a function that may include oversight over services at other organizations.

Required Qualifications:

The position requires a Bachelors Degree in a behavioral science, social science, business, education, or a related area. Four years of experience in outreach program coordination, preferably in higher education, recommended but not required.

Salary/Fringe Benefits:

Grade 38 on District Classified Salary Schedule ($4608-$5542/month).

Health and welfare benefits include District contribution for medical/dental/vision benefits and employee life insurance ($50,000). (Cash in lieu option available on medical insurance).

Participation in the Public Employees Retirement System and Social Security.

Conditions of Employment:

This is a full-time, 12-calendar month independently funded position. Continued employment is contingent upon sustained funding and the provisions of the CSEA collective bargaining agreement.

Hours of employment Monday Friday 7:30AM 4:00PM.

Initial placement of employees on Classified Salary schedule is at Step 1. After six months of successful probationary employment, employee is placed at Step 2.

Employment is to be effective as soon as possible following completion of the selection process.

Individual who is offered employment shall be required to obtain fingerprints for a criminal history clearance through the State Department of Justice and remit the required fee for processing the fingerprints, Federal Bureau of Investigation (no fee if obtained at Cerritos College Campus Police Station), produce an original social security card, and submit negative TB test results (must be within the past four years or within the last 60 days if not previously employed in a school district in California) before employment.

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States and signing of loyalty oath per Government Codes 3100-3109.
