Salary: Starting salary range of $71,265 - $78,392 is based on the Lee College Administrative/Administrative Support Salary Scale, D62. Starting salary is commensurate with education and related work experience.

Job Summary/Basic Function:

Manage all operations of the Financial Aid Office. Provide leadership for the delivery of the Title IV federal aid programs, Texas state aid programs, as well as institutional aid programs in accordance with program rules and regulations and Lee College policies and procedures. Be familiar with PeopleSoft, as well as technology and software that pertains to financial aid and be able to troubleshoot. Maintain statistics and complete federal/state reports that follow auditing standards. Report directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Administer delivery of all federal, state, and institutional aid programs at all Lee College sites.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of financial aid policy and procedures for the College.
  • Oversee all financial aid activities for the College to ensure policies, procedures, goals, and objectives are met.
  • Oversee collection and maintenance of program records and ensure audit compliance for all programs.
  • Prepare required federal, state, and institutional reports and office budget.
  • Direct the efforts required to maintain a computerized financial aid management system.
  • Serve as Technical Lead with PeopleSoft for Financial Aid, as well as supporting software.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in outreach/educational programs for students and the community.
  • Develop measurable goals and objectives for the efficient delivery of financial aid services.
  • Review student appeals for progress, as well as changes to financial aid calculations.
  • Review student applications that require professional judgment.

Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and other visitors to the college.

Communicate with key personnel at Lee College and other area colleges for updates on new programs, regulatory changes, deadlines, etc.
  • Participate in professional development activities; attend national, regional, state, and local meetings as well as conferences, trainings, workshops, etc.
  • Maintain program's policies and procedures manual.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors (or higher) degree
  • Five (5) years of related work experience in higher education financial aid
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge and proficiency in federal and state reporting
  • Demonstrate proficiency in technology
  • Knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Knowledge of peripheral software that improves the efficiency of the Financial Aid Office
  • Must be aware of and sensitive to cultural differences
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to travel within the local target area of the college and out of town to attend training, conferences, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of student records, PeopleSoft preferred
  • Knowledge of Second Chance Pell
