Job Description Summary:
To provide temporary assistance as needed

Job Description:

Tutors will be scheduled as needed with EMT students to assist with questions or concerns in didactic and psychomotor aspects of the class.

Knowledge
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Effective teaching techniques adaptable to a variety of learning styles.
  • Understanding the comprehensive mission and philosophy of community colleges.
  • Subject matter and related and/or relevant topics and issues in the teaching discipline.
  • Sensitive issues relating to a diverse student body.
  • Principles and practices associated with Servant-Leadership.



Skills
Must possess required skills and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Maintaining an established work schedule, including days, evenings and weekends, including possible multiple campus locations, which may vary by semester.
  • Being punctual for tutoring sessions and student meetings.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student information.
  • Effectively assist and assess student learning.
  • Interacting with students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Interacting with students of diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Associate Degree Nursing Physical Therapist Assistant education.
  • Creativity and innovation in the field and service in the profession and/or community.
  • Effective planning, organizing, communication, organizational skills, and managing in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining an established work schedule which may include days, evenings and weekends and possible multiple campus locations which may vary by semester.



Technology Skills

  • Use a variety of spreadsheet, word processing, database, and presentation software.
  • Must have strong clinical skills.



Physical Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, peers and clinical agency personnel.
  • Instruction takes place in classroom, clinical, and lab settings.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift and move 30 pounds.
  • Ability to meet the technical requirements of the program.



Safety

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

$34.60/Hour
