Position Description:
Reporting to and under the supervision of the Dean with daily work direction provided by the Department Chair in conjunction with departmental faculty, provides a variety of instructional assistance to faculty and students in a classroom, laboratory, or workshop environment. Performs technical and specialized duties related to the preparation, operation, and maintenance of classrooms, laboratories, workshops, tool/storage rooms, and other related areas. Provides instructional assistance in the use of specialized equipment, computers and software applications, and instructional materials. Maintains and repairs tools and equipment. Performs clerical duties to support the instructional program and other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Two (2) years of full-time equivalent responsible technical experience working with the public in an educational, tutorial, or laboratory setting OR two (2) years of training and/or work experience in the automotive technology field.

Education:
Education equivalent to an Associate’s degree (60 semester units) from an accredited institution is required. Two (2) years of direct experience in addition to that identified above may be substituted for each one year (30 semester units) of college.

Licenses:
A valid driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance policy.
A valid forklift operator certificate.
