Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent/Vice President, Human Resources, the Director, Diversity and Inclusion serves as a champion for diversity and inclusion issues across campus. Plans diversity related events and training. Coordinates with other groups in planning district-wide events that support a culture of inclusion. This position is also responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the District’s Equal Employment Opportunity Plan, investigation of discrimination and harassment complaints, and ensuring compliance with policy, regulations, and laws related to equal employment opportunity. The Director also performs duties related to Title IX programs, is a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team, assists in complaint investigation, makes recommendations, and prepares detailed, written reports. Assists the Title IX Officers in the development and implementation of policies, websites, and training programs for faculty, staff, and students on Title IX and other related topics.

Successful completion of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
A minimum of four years of progressively more responsible full-time experience in a comprehensive human resources department, EEO program or related regulatory agency.
A passion for diversity issues, demonstrated either through employment or community involvement.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution with major coursework in Human Resources Management, Public or Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field; or Certification in Human Resources.
Experience and training regarding conducting sensitive and confidential investigations alleging violations of Title IX.
Experience investigating and resolving discrimination and harassment complaints.
Successful experience in long and short range planning and project management
Experience providing effective training.
Human Resources experience in the public sector and/or educational institutions.
Demonstrated ability to deal appropriately with confidential information and exercise good judgment on sensitive matters.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Strong organization and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to prepare complex reports and create effective presentations.
