San Diego Mesa College seeks energetic and dedicated candidates to apply for management positions. As a vital member of the College's executive team, the Vice President of Administrative Services leads key business, facilities, technology and human resources departments on campus.

Applications are currently being accepted for Vice President, Administrative Services at San Diego Mesa College. Days and hours vary. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Major Responsibilities:


Desired Qualifications:

Applicable sections of local, State and federal laws, rules and regulations
governing assigned area.

Applicable sections of the State Education Code and Health & Safety Codes.

Complexity of functions and impacts of college operations.

Contract law as applicable to California community colleges.

District collective bargaining process.

District organization, operations, policies and procedures.

District personnel, budgeting and accounting procedures.

Modern office practices, procedures and equipment and record-keeping

Oral and written communications skills.

Attention to detail.

People oriented.

Principles of personnel management, supervision and training, and public administration and accounting management.

Skills and Abilities:

Analyze situations accurately and take effective courses of action.

Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with diverse constituencies, within and outside the District.

Develop and manage a diverse program area, and offer clear leadership.

Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with administrators, staff, contractors and other support personnel.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Finance, budget and accounting management.

Maintain records and prepare reports.

Manage operations of business and facilities.

Personnel management, supervision, and training.

Plan, schedule, and supervise work.

Public administration, human resources, technology and accounting.

Understand and follow oral and written directions.

Understand and interpret labor agreements and District policies and procedures.

Training and Experience:

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: a Bachelors Degree with some advanced coursework in Public or Business Administration or related field and six years experience in accounting, personnel, budgeting, labor relations or other related field, with at least two years experience in a supervisory position.


Pay Information:

Range 20 ($10,505.63 $17,098.10) per month based on the current Management Salary Schedule.

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the Management Employees Handbook. This position is FLSA Exempt and may not accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
