PSYCHOLOGY INSTRUCTOR
Butler County Community College, PA, is currently accepting applications for a nine-month, full-time Tenure-track Psychology Instructor in the Humanities/Social Sciences Division.
The Instructor will begin in the Spring 2010 Semester.
Reporting to the Dean for Humanities and Social Sciences, the Psychology Instructor is responsible for teaching: General Psychology, Human Growth and Development, Abnormal Psychology, Psychology of Human Relationships, Social Psychology, Child Psychology and Educational Psychology. Other duties include curriculum development, student recruitment, student advising, participation on Division and College committees and promoting student retention.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Education, Counseling, Social Work or related field;
• Three years teaching of experience in Psychology courses;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; and,
• Computer literacy and proficiency.
Preferred:
• Experience teaching with Smart Board Technology or advanced technology;
• Experience with curriculum development and assessment;
• Online course development and teaching experience;
• Community college teaching experience;
• Evidence of excellence in teaching; and,
• A Doctorate Degree from an accredited institution or enrollment in an accredited Graduate Program beyond the Master’s Degree.
Candidates will be required to craft and deliver a field-related lesson to the search committee. The lesson topic will be provided after the candidate’s interview is confirmed.
Salary ($32,500 - $36,500) and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
