The Santa Clarita Community College District/College of the Canyons is seeking a full-time Instructional Laboratory Technician (Chemistry)(Canyon Country Campus) and a part-time Instructional Laboratory Technician(Chemistry)(47.5%) in the Academic Affairs division. The ideal candidate will share our college’s commitment to educating the more than 32,000 racially and socioeconomically diverse students we enroll each year. Review Date: January 23, 2020
Reporting to and under the supervision of the Dean, School of Mathematics, Sciences and Health Professions with daily work direction provided by the Department Chair in conjunction with departmental faculty, the Lab Coordinator, and the Senior Instructional Laboratory Technician performs a variety of technical and specialized duties related to the preparation, operation and maintenance of chemistry laboratories and related areas; operates and uses specialized equipment and instructional materials; provides information and technical assistance to faculty and students. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience: Two (2) years of responsible experience working in a laboratory setting or related area.
Education: Education equivalent to an Associate’s degree (60 semester units) from an accredited institution is required. Two (2) years of direct experience in addition to that identified above may be substituted for each one-year (30 semester units) of college.
