This position is a Full-Time, Exempt, 215-day, Parkland Academic Employees (PAE) appointment. Salary is commensurate with experience.
The Counselor is responsible for assisting students in establishing and achieving their higher education objectives.

Essential Job Functions:
- Provides mental health and career counseling to students.
- Counsels currently enrolled students on matters relating to the student’s personal well-being and educational objectives.
- Provides guidance and direction to the general public and prospective students seeking information related to mental health, community resources, and psychoeducation
- Conducts workshops and small group discussions on mental health topics, academic issues, and career development.
- Acts as a reference person for faculty, staff, administrators, and other campus employees who request assistance with students related to mental health, community resources, and reaching academic goals.
- Administers and interprets career and psychological instruments as needed.
- Stays abreast of current issues in the profession through involvement in seminars, trainings, continuing education, and organizations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Family Therapy.
- Eligible and working towards licensure.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
