Job Summary:

 

Teach one dental hygiene courses, including Nutrition and Biochemistry SP2026. Teach lecture and/or lab portion of the class. Use appropriate academic, laboratory and business software. Courses are taught at the Waukegan Southshore campus and during daytime hours.

Job Description:

1. Teach one or more dental hygiene courses.
2. Prepare course syllabus, class lecture and lesson plans.
3. Teach lecture portion of the class.
4. Teach lab portion of the class, if required.
5. Grade student work in a timely manner.
6. Maintain and submit attendance and grades according to the guidelines set by the college. Assign final grades.
7. Complete required administrative tasks.
8. Observe safety protocols related to lab (if applicable).

9. Use college learning management systems to communicate with students in a timely manner.

10. Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledge.

 11. Maintain continuing education as required by the accrediting body.

 

            

Required qualifications

 

Theory Classes:

Associate's degree with two- years tested experience in dental hygiene -AND-are a licensed dental hygienist that has -OR-is currently working on completing their Bachelor's degree.


Clinical Classes:
Associate's degree with two-years tested experience in dental hygiene -AND-are a licensed dental hygienist.

 

Desired qualifications

 

College teaching experience. B.S. degree in education or a health care related field. Bilingual Spanish.

 

Per Load Hour Compensation Schedule

2025 -2026 - $1,373

2026 -2027 - $1,414
