General Statement

This position facilitates learning for students enrolled in any of the Mathematics courses. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of strong commitment to student success, equity in college Mathematics education, and academic experience in Mathematics.
The full-time workload for this position may take place in Worcester, Southbridge, or any another QCC instructional location.
Supervision Received
Reports to the Dean of the School of Math, Science and Engineering
Supervision Exercised
The full-time faculty member exercises supervision over personnel assigned to them.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Teach a range of mathematics courses including developmental mathematics, algebra, statistics, trigonometry, calculus, and differential equations.
2.Provide classroom, laboratory and/or team-teaching instruction and facilitate individualized and non-traditional approaches to learning as appropriate.
3.Develop and/or revise instructional materials with other faculty members.
4.Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities.
5.Develop and apply assessment strategies that maximize the learning process and measure student learning outcomes.
6.Actively participate in ongoing curriculum & program review.
7.Conduct academic advising and assistance of students.
8.Participate in college service activities in concert with the provisions of the MCCC Agreement.
9.Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
1.Master's degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or in a related field with at least 6 semester hours of graduate-level mathematics or mathematics education courses. (Must be confirmed by unofficial transcript).
2.At least two years of teaching mathematics at the secondary or collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications
1.At least two years of college teaching in a community college setting.
2.Documented evidence of teaching a wide range of Mathematics courses, including Statistics.
3.Documented examples of curriculum / course development and assessment.
4.Demonstrated experience in using technology in the teaching of Math.
5.Demonstrated experience in the use of a college-wide Learning Management System (LMS).
6.Demonstrated ability to instruct mathematics in English and Spanish.
7. Demonstrated track record in innovative, non-traditional modes of instruction and instructional delivery, including flipped classrooms, team teaching across disciplines, online teaching, service learning and corequisite remediation.
8.Documented evidence/examples of effective communication and interpersonal skills.
9.Well-articulated understanding of the role of community colleges, their students and philosophy.
10.Evidence of understanding of and appreciation for diversity, multiculturalism, inclusion and equity.
11.Predisposition to working in a dynamic environment requiring flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork.
12.Strong evidence of passionate commitment to striving for excellence in working with students, faculty, and staff and in responding to opportunities that extend the Mission of the College.
