Job Description Summary:
To provide an exceptional customer service experience to students and visitors to Career & Transfer Centers.

Job Description:

*Description of Duties and Tasks *

  • Serve as first contact with students and district and community partners in the assigned Career & Transfer Center. Provide outstanding customer service to all center visitors.
  •  Inform students on available Career and Transfer services. Connect students with information about programs and events and encourage participation. Assist students in accessing information for Career & Transfer resources online.
  • Schedule appointments, log visitors, and assist internal and external staff with center operations and workflow.
  • Perform center support office duties including student check-in, answering phones, ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining files, processing mail, duplication, compiling information packets, creating forms, spreadsheets or promotional materials, and other projects.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, departments, or the general public regarding career and transfer services and scheduled center events.
  • Set up event space for and assist with workshops, classes, and on-campus activities. Provide event support for in person, hybrid or virtual events.
  • Participate in Career & Transfer virtual information sessions to keep up to date on current information that may be shared with students as part of their service exploration.
  • Assist with center programs and department activities, including making arrangements for food delivery, facility use, security, and special equipment; event set up and clean up; parking arrangements; technical requirements; staffing, and other services. 
  • Maintain calendars, bulletin boards, brochure racks, electronic signage, and other information areas with Career and Transfer information.
  • Prepares, publicizes, and schedules students for workshops and events.
  • Perform various data entry and clerical duties in order to maintain accurate records for center operations.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops or reviewing resources.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot student computers, TV monitors, and A/V equipment and submit technical support tickets to maintain equipment operations. 
  • May be assigned special projects by Career or Transfer Services directors.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
