Human Services Faculty


POSITION: Full-Time Human Services Faculty (Assistant Professor): Department of Human Services, Division of Business & Professional Studies; Tenure Track; (Haverhill & Lawrence) Campus; 37.5 hours per week; MCCC/MTA Unit Faculty Position.

SUMMARY: The Human Services program is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach a range of courses across its associate degree and certificate programs. This position reports to the Dean of Business and Professional Studies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach a variety of Human Services courses across all program levels.
  • Develop and teach face to face, online, hybrid, and accelerated courses.
  • Teach Human Services courses within NECC's Early College program.
  • Participate in curriculum development and assessment at the course and program levels.
  • Use academic technology to effectively communicate with students and colleagues.
  • Actively participate in college service, which may include department and division meetings, college committees, community engagement, event programming, and offering practicum/career guidance.
  • Collaborate and engage with students, faculty, and academic advisors to support student success.
  • Serve as an academic advisor to assigned students.
  • Maintain weekly office hours.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dean of Business and Professional Studies.


Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time teaching experience in the Human Services field.
  • Experience using technology in instruction and/or assessment.
  • Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity in educational or human service settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the field of human services or education.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience teaching at the college level across multiple instructional modalities.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Experience working with or managing grants
  • Experience with alternative methods of credit assessment
  • Ability to teach in other areas of Professional Studies as needed, including but not limited to Education or Criminal Justice.

Additional Information:
SALARY: Anticipated starting salary range is $60,483.00 - $68,484.00 (Rank of Assistant Professor with a master's degree) per academic year with complete fringe benefit package. Complete fringe benefit package including competitive health insurance, free dental insurance, basic life insurance, long-term disability insurance, paid sick, vacation and personal leave, educational benefits for employee/spouse/dependents, and excellent retirement benefits. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
