An Educational Administrator Position
Review Date: January 18, 2019
Under the direction of the Asst. Superintendent/Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Academic Services will be responsible for coordinating the enrollment management team and the Office of Academic Affairs to ensure effective and efficient course scheduling practices and current program review processes and procedures. They will facilitate the curriculum development and approval process, compile, analyze and develop reports and make recommendations to the Asst. Superintendent/Vice President of Academic Affairs to achieve enrollment goals which include, but are not limited to, meeting students’ curriculum needs, achieving institutional enrollment targets and tracking student success, persistence and retention. The AVP of Academic Services will provide assistance to the Vice President of Academic Affairs for activities relevant to supporting instructional program activities, such as accreditation and annual certification of the instructional program with the State Chancellor’s Office, as well as generation of reports on all categorical and general fund projects or initiatives, in addition to all grant-based activities. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Manages, coordinates, develops, evaluates and executes a variety of projects and activities and may be assigned a combination of day, evening and weekend programs offered by the College. Within the scope of this position, additional responsibilities may be added or deleted based on District and community needs.
Education (Requirement #1):
Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited college or university. (See our website for evaluation requirements for units and degrees earned at foreign institutions).
Experience (Requirement #2):
Two (2) years of academic administrative experience in an institution of higher education reasonably related to the assignment.
A minimum of two years of successful leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment; AND
A minimum of one year of successful experience providing leadership for a major district-level initiative/program; AND
Completion of a leadership training program of at least one semester in duration.
