General Statement

The full-time workload for this position may take place in Worcester, Southbridge, or any other QCC instructional location.

Supervision Received

Reports to the Dean of the School of Business, Computing, and Applied Technology.

Supervision Exercised

The full-time faculty member exercises supervision over personnel assigned to them.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach a range of Advanced Manufacturing and related courses, which may include CNC operations, robotics and automation, quality control, blueprint reading, and CAD/CAM design.
  • Provide classroom and laboratory instruction, incorporating hands-on, industry-relevant experiences that reflect current manufacturing technologies and standards.
  • Develop and/or revise instructional materials and laboratory activities with other faculty members to ensure alignment with program outcomes, national credentials, and industry needs.
  • Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and technical experience, including nontraditional learners and underrepresented populations.
  • Develop and apply assessment strategies that measure student learning outcomes and promote continuous improvement in technical and professional competencies.
  • Actively participate in program review, accreditation, and curriculum development, including integration of new technologies, equipment, and software.
  • Provide academic advising and mentoring to students pursuing manufacturing and engineering pathways.
  • Participate in college service activities in accordance with the provisions of the MCCC Agreement.
  • Maintain and support operation of Advanced Manufacturing equipment
  • Support operation in the QCC FABLAB, ensuring safe and effective student use
  • Engage with industry partners and regional employers to align curriculum with workforce needs and support internship, apprenticeship, and job placement opportunities.
  • Participate in recruitment and retention activities to grow the Advanced Manufacturing program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience with CNC operations, robotics/automation, or CAD/CAM design software.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence, student success, and equity-minded instruction.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related discipline.
  • Three or more years of successful college-level teaching, preferably at a community college.
  • Professional experience in product design, process improvement, quality assurance, or lean manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MasterCAM, Verisurf, or similar platforms.
  • Documented experience in curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with industry partners and integrate national credentials into curriculum.
  • Strong evidence of a commitment to workforce development and applied learning.
