Job Description
The Equity, Inclusion, and Sustainability Coordinator serves as a point of contact for employees and students, both potential and existing, with equity, diversity, inclusion, and/or sustainability questions, complaints, or concerns. In conjunction with the Program Director, this position provides training to campus departments, coordinates educational sessions, and develops formal materials related to diversity and other issues. This position is responsible for developing and implementing programs that further the office's mission and serves as the Native American liaison. Additionally, the position involves data collection and analysis to assist the Program Director in evaluating campus programs and progress. The Coordinator serves, as designated, as the diversity community liaison with multiple agencies and organizations.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree and one (1) year of directly paid professional experience OR Associate's degree and three (3) years of directly paid professional experience.
2. Experience working with Native American/Indigenous populations required
3. Knowledge of College Student Development.
4. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from various identities, cultures, and backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Master's degree and two (2) years of full-time, direct paid professional experience.
2. Experience working in education or related field, preferably a community college.
3. Experience supervising part-time staff and student workers.
Responsibilities: 1. Provide assistance for students in completing and complying with the NSHE Native American Fee Waiver. 2. Work closely with and collaborate with Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, and the Cashier's Office. 3. Maintain current knowledge of NSHE Native American Fee Waiver status and information regarding eligibility. 4. Facilitate workshops and other educational resources regarding the NSHE Native American Fee Waiver. 5. Outreach to community partners for Native American / Indigenous advocacy and collaborations. 6. Tracking, monitoring, and reporting on TMCC students with the NSHE Native American Fee Waiver. 7. Providing support and mentorship for Native American / Indigenous students. 8. Meets regularly with Native American / Indigenous students with individual and group meetings 9. Plan, organize, and facilitate programming and events for Native American / Indigenous students. 10. In collaboration with the Program Director, this position supports the planning, development, and delivery of programming focused on promoting and reinforcing equity, diversity, and inclusion values. 11. Assists with publicizing, promotion, and communication regarding office programming. Provides support for the Northern Nevada Diversity Summit and other system-wide collaborative EISO initiatives. 12. Deliver mandatory diversity training to search committee members. 13. Maintain current knowledge of AA/EEO regulations, and nationwide equity, diversity, inclusion, and sustainability issues and events. 14. Manage and supervise student employees. 15. In collaboration with the Program Director, assist in the development and implementation of the diversity plan and strategic initiatives to support College goals. 16. Lead, manage, and champion specific initiatives and programs as designated by the Program Director. 17. Assist with the management of the multicultural center for TMCC. 18. Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and strategies implemented by this office.Assist the Program Director with calendar, travel arrangements, meeting logistics, and other administrative needs. 19. Perform related work as required.
Salary and Benefits Information:
Salary: $53,104 - $66,380, salary placement will be dependent on education level and years of experience.
