The Santa Clarita Community College District/College of the Canyons is seeking a full-time tenure track instructor in the Political Science department. The ideal candidate will share our college’s commitment to educating the more than 32,000 racially and socioeconomically diverse students we enroll each year. Political Science Instructor
Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty
Review Date: April 2, 2020
This is a 10-month professional, full-time tenure track position beginning Fall 2020. The position may include a combination of teaching, department, college, and community leadership functions. Assignment may include day, evening, and weekend duties at all District sites.
Duties of the Position:
Teaches a full load of courses in the Political Science department.
Participates in student learning outcomes and assessments.
Participates in curriculum development and revisions.
Participates in and implements departmental and college program reviews.
Participates in additional faculty responsibilities including college decision-making activities related to both
professional and academic matters. The activities will occur both within the department as well as in the larger college setting.
Maintains office hours and participates in department, division, and college committees and governance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Possession of a California Community College Instructor Credential in the appropriate area
Master’s degree in political science, government, or international relations
Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s degree in economics, history, public administration, social science,
sociology, any ethnic studies, JD, or LL.B.
