Job Description Summary:
To plan, develop, and coordinate all activities related to institutional effectiveness and oversee analytical activities to support informed decision-making at the college.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines assigned staff while adhering to organizational human resources policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends the hire and termination personnel actions for positions assigned.
  • Provides leadership, oversees and administers systematic and broad-based processes for supporting the institutional research activities of the college.
  • Ensures that data and information are available to meet the strategic planning, decision-making, and programming/initiative evaluation needs of the college.  Promotes a culture that utilizes evidence-based practices across the college.
  • Supervises collegewide surveys including development, administration, analysis, and the dissemination of results.
  • Oversees the institutional research staff in analyzing data collected to support district strategic planning including trend analysis to ascertain patterns, program evaluation, and decision-making.
  • Uses statistical software programming language to obtain and manipulate data from institutional, proprietary, and publicly available databases.
  • Develops and implements training and technical support in strategic planning, data collection, data analysis and interpretation, environmental scanning, survey design and administration, research methods, and related topics.
  • Oversees the ad hoc data request process and supervises responses to requests for information.
  • Oversees and manages documentation and procedures related to institutional research projects.
  • Supervises the day-to-day work of the Institutional Research Review Committee.
  • Leads or serves on relevant collegewide committees and task forces, as appropriate.
  • Liaises with external research partners, including developing data sharing agreements and supporting external evaluations.
  • Remains current on all aspects of institutional research, institutional analytics, and technology innovations.

Knowledge

Required Work Experience

  • Four years related work experience including one year supervisory experience.
  • Experience with statistical programming language such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, R, SQL, etc.

Preferred Work Experience

  • Five years related work experience.
  • Effectively use work management and productivity tools for project management.
  • Experience in institutional research, higher education administration, or related field.
  • Experience with reporting and/or dashboarding tools such as Tableau, SAS VA, Excel, DOMO, etc.

Required Education

  • Master’s degree.

Preferred Education

  • Master’s degree or PhD in social and behavioral sciences, or related field.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Safety

  • Supervise safe operation of unit. Facilitate safety inspections. Take reasonable and prudent actions to eliminate identified hazards. Ensure employees receive appropriate safety training and foster a workplace safety culture.

Pay Range

$88,751 – $126,787

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.
 

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
