Responsibilities and Duties:
Defines and implements the unit program/courses. Teaches, engages in student advisement and extra curricula activities
Directly reports to the CFS Director regarding all academic & administrative issues of the Unit
Assists the CFS Director to reinforce the University policies, regulations, and procedures with regard to GFP affairs
Oversees the implementation and ensure staff compliance with the University policies, procedures, and regulations and directives issued by authorized entities in relation to the GFP provision
Proposes permanent and ad hoc committees/ focused working groups that are necessary for implementing the tasks and duties assigned at the Unit level
Ensures the quality and relevance of the GFP provision by setting up appropriate mechanisms and procedures that are aligned to the UoB’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values
Proposes – in consultation with the rest of the Unit staff members – plans and policies for the GFP development, review, and improvement
Manages all administrative affairs of the faculty members in the Unit in consultation and coordination with the CFS Director
Manages all academic affairs of the GFP provision in accordance with international academic standards and the University rules and regulations
Proposes professional development programs for the Unit staff to keep them updated with the latest developments in their fields
Leads and oversees regular assessments, evaluations, revisions of the Program to ensure that rigorous academic standards are followed
Oversees the GFP students academic performance and liaise with relevant UoB entities to ensure the best level of academic achievement of these students
In consultation and coordination with the CFS Director, assigns duties and responsibilities to the Unit staff to ensure proper provision of the Program
Prepares and submits regular staff performance evaluation reports and course profiles as required by CFS Office
Prepares periodical regular program reports and statistics to reflect and monitor students’ progression as well as the overall operation of the Program
A PhD from a reputable western university in English, or educational leadership discipline is required.
A minimum of five (5) years work experience in the same field at higher education.
Must be fluent in English and knowledge in Arabic would be an advantage
Experience in designing and implementing quality assurance standards and institutional change processes
Experience in budget preparation and current higher education trends
Experience in student academic counseling, community outreach and development
Evidence of curriculum planning and developments.
Acquaint with the understanding of the western model of education.
Experience in the GCC countries is also an added advantages and the ability to work in a diverse work environment
