Job Description

Truckee Meadows Community College is recruiting for a full-time NSHE Specialist 1 for Admissions & Records. This position will perform a broad range of admissions, registration, records, technical, analytical, functional and administrative functions in the area of admissions and records. The position maintains a caseload of student records and provides accurate, timely, and personalized service to students, faculty, staff, and the public. Duties include but are not limited to: explaining admissions requirements to prospective or returning students; evaluating high school credentials, residency decisions for tuition purpose, decisions on refund exception requests, coordinating student appeals, verifications of enrollment; serving as a functional analyst for PeopleSoft within the department; analyze and process duplicate student IDs; developing and maintaining business process documentation and procedures in Admissions & Records; responsible for the fiscal management of departmental self-supporting accounts; supervising Admission & Records Assistant and student staff; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of relevant experience; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of program support experience equivalent to an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada state service which included applying complex laws and regulations, composing written materials and maintaining records; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

This position requires supervisory experience.

This position requires experience working in a Higher Education setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Applicants with Admissions & Records experience, experience working with automated student information systems and/or Customer Relations Management (CRM) software experience are encouraged to apply.

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.

Compensation Grade

Grade 31 (Entry, Step 01 $20.97/hr - Step 03, $22.83/hr)
