This position is responsible for providing daily assistance during the summer to the Program Manager, instructors, and student's ages 5-17 years old. They are also expected to understand aspects of all summer camps; adhere to the overall safety, quality, and delivery of courses and camps. The camp assistant is hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. This position is filled prior to the start of the summer semester, and is contingent upon the needs of the college.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Assist the Program Manager with the administration, management, and supervision of camps serving children ages 5 to 17 years old.
Provide restroom breaks for instructors during the course.
Ensure supplies are available, equipment is operational and classrooms, or other training spaces, are in satisfactory condition and report any deficiencies and needed repairs.
Assist with the distribution of supplies and camp signage.
Assist with camp inventory and data entry.
Make photocopies; assist Program Manger with supplies pick up; prep classrooms.
Assemble and provide instructors with appropriate class materials.
Support camper check-in and check-out processes.
Provide lunch time supervision.
Transfer students to and from camp and lunch.
Attend mandatory instructor orientation.
Assist with camps set-ups and cleanup.
Greet and welcome parents and children in a friendly manner.
Maintain a professional demeanor and polished appearance.
Exhibit outstanding customer service by developing positive relationships with parents.
Serve as a chaperone during scheduled field trips.
At all times, adhere to relevant policies and procedures, report to Program Managers and/or instructor any student dissatisfaction, and as is appropriate, assist in ensuring that student and instructor concerns are resolved in a professional and timely manner.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Applications including E-mail, Internet, Work, and Excel
Must be flexible to meet changing work needs and demands
Detail oriented and able to multitask and meet critical deadlines
Able to work individually with limited supervision and collaboratively with diverse populations/groups/teams
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, both written and oral Possess strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple, competing priorities while remaining composed and professional
Local travel may be required. Travel is typically confined to the Lee College service area
Must be able to lift and move boxes/items up to forty (40) pounds
Occasional work outside with exposure to elements (excessive heat, rain)
Must be available for at least 18 weeks between May 21 - August 31

Knowledge of College systems and operations
Ability able to climb stairs, stand, walk, bend, and kneel
Previous customer service experience
