    The incumbent plays a vital role in delivering Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed) initiatives, providing engaging nutrition education, promoting healthy eating habits, and encouraging physical activity in various community settings.

     



    Knowledge Skills and Abilities



    • Knowledge of SNAP-Ed educational components, programs, and processes Excellent teaching, facilitation, and communication skills

    • Strong decision-making skills Attention to detail

    • Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles

    • Strong interest in community health and nutrition.

    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and within a team

    • Ability to travel extensively, as required 


     


    Essential Job Functions



    • Delivers nutrition, food safety, and physical activity lessons using approved SNAP-Ed curricula.

    • Facilitates hands-on food demonstrations and activities to promote healthy eating. 

    • Collaborates with the SNAP-Ed Coordinator, teachers, community partners, and stakeholders to implement programs effectively. 

    • Maintains accurate records of program delivery, participation, and outcomes, and contribute to reporting. 

    • Participates in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

    • Other duties as assigned 


     


    Qualifications



    • Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health education, public health, or a related field preferred. Candidates with other undergraduate degrees may be considered if they possess position relevant credentials or relevant work experiences.

    • 1 year experience in community-based education, health promotion, or working with underserved populations is desirable.
