Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Life Sciences Faculty member for a nine-month, tenure-track position. Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Reports to the Division Chair. Mathematics and Sciences;


• Collaborates with faculty and subject matter experts on matters pertaining to the developing and redeveloping of curricula, writing syllabi, selecting textbooks, assessing learning outcomes and student achievement, etc.


• Develops and instructs courses within the fields of Biology and Environmental Science using traditional and online instructional modalities.


• Demonstrates, observes, evaluates, and provides technical skill feedback to students through close supervision of lab work.


• Provides academic and professional advising to current and prospective students.


• Serves on various College, Division, and Program level committees.


• Summer contract extensions or adjunct teaching opportunities are available as enrollment dictates.


• Supports the college's student success initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's in Biology or a master's degree with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate hours in Biology or a closely related area from a regionally accredited college or university.


• Experience instructing courses in Life Sciences using alternative instructional modalities (e.g., blended, hybrid, online).


• Demonstrated ability in working with diverse populations including, but not limited to, age, gender, and culture.


• Excellent written and oral communications skills;


• Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance candidate's value to the institution.


• Teaching experience at the community college level desirable.

Ability to traverse campus, carrying, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking, and ability to drive to off campus locations.
