    General Description



    The Workforce Development unit at the Community College of Philadelphia seeks part-time Instructors with expertise in AI prompt design. Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in developing and optimizing prompts for generative AI models, including ChatGPT, and proven experience in delivering engaging, practical, and industry-aligned training. These courses prepare students to design effective prompts, troubleshoot issues, and apply prompt design to business and industry contexts. Classes may be offered during daytime and/or evening hours at the Community College of Philadelphia and/or employer/client partner locations (off campus) within the service area.


    Workforce Development provides noncredit education to businesses, organizations, and individuals wishing to enhance their skills and meet professional goals. We offer a comprehensive menu of high-quality continuing education and career-training programs delivered by expert faculty and staff.

    Teaching faculty are an integral part of the larger Academic and Student Success Division at CCP including Workforce Development or Career Training.     Specific Responsibilities

    • Instruction: Teach prompt design fundamentals and applications across diverse use cases. Provide applied instruction in crafting effective prompts, optimizing AI responses, and troubleshooting issues.

    • Curriculum Delivery: Deliver assigned modules and interactive projects following approved course descriptions and syllabi, ensuring alignment with workforce and employer needs.

    • Documentation & Assessment: Document student attendance, monitor performance, and evaluate progress through projects, exercises, and assessments. Maintain accurate records of student competencies.

    • Applied Learning: Guide participants through direct, contextual, and advanced prompt structures; incorporate ethical considerations and bias mitigation strategies in AI applications.

    • Commitment to Mission: Demonstrate responsibility for helping the College achieve success through a commitment to its mission, vision, and values.

    • Technology Integration: Utilize instructional technology and AI platforms to enhance learning and reinforce applied skills.

    • Collaboration & Leadership: Communicate effectively, foster collaboration, and inspire students and colleagues to achieve program and college success. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in prompt design.

    • Inclusive Practices: Establish an inclusive classroom environment, sensitive to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of the College’s faculty, staff, and students.

    • Student-Centered Learning: Manage the learning environment with a student-centered focus. Implement diverse teaching and learning strategies that accommodate varied learning styles and promote engagement.

    • Teaching Excellence: Strive for excellence in teaching by applying best practices in adult learning, modeling professional standards, and encouraging student success, persistence, and retention.


    Minimum Qualifications

    • Expertise prompt design and AI tools, including ChatGPT or similar models.

    • Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing prompts for varied applications.

    • Strong instructional design skills and ability to tailor training to different learning styles.

    • Excellent communication, facilitation, and learner engagement skills.

    • Minimum three (3) years of recent professional experience in AI, business, education, or related technical fields.

    • Experience teaching, training, or mentoring adult learners in technical or workplace settings.


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Information Technology, or related field.

    • Familiarity with AI ethics, responsible AI practices, and bias mitigation strategies.

    • Experience with other AI-powered tools and automation platforms.

    • Experience supporting diverse learners and implementing inclusive teaching strategies.

    • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
