    DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:


    The Workforce Development/Corporate Training and Community Services Department has potential openings for instructors to provide non-credit training for contracts, grants, or other potential assignments. While the Department is seeking potential instructors for the trades in all areas of expertise, including Die maker, Electrical, Mechanical, Machine Repair, Millwright, and Plumber/Pipefitter, Real Estate and Welding are especially being sought. Non-credit training through the Corporate Training Department is generally performed for incumbent workers from local business and industry within Erie County and Western New York. Workforce/Community Service: Up-skill training for non-credit remedial course offerings and BPI and NABCEP certified instructors.


     


    TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:


    •    Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of subject;
    •    Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s);
    •    Prepares course syllabi and outcomes;
    •    Encourages student participation;
    •    Provides students with appropriate learning materials and expertise in assigned subject(s);
    •    Evaluates students’ performance based on course learning outcomes;
    •    Establishes and maintains an organized and disciplined classroom environment;
    •    Is responsive to students and provides students with assistance and guidance;
    •    Responsible for contributing to and maintaining an inclusive and collaborative College environment;
    •    Adheres to all College, Department, as well as applicable County policies.



    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


    Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Good knowledge of general educational and adult learner training methods and techniques; ability to develop educational programs and create customized curriculum for business and industry; ability to teach effectively in a business or industrial setting; good professional judgment; business or industry related experience; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Demonstrates a commitment to fostering and advancing a diverse and inclusive work force.        


     


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


    Bachelor's Degree and business or industry related experience is preferred
