General Statement of Job

Under the direction of the Executive Dean of Counseling, the District Clinical Counseling Coordinator facilitates the coordination of care and support for students experiencing significant mental health challenges to enhance the conditions and likelihood of students' personal and academic success.

Description of Duties and Tasks

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Facilitates the delivery of mental health services to a diverse student population by triaging incoming referrals, managing incoming phone line, providing internal/external community referrals, and scheduling appropriate intake appointments for the clinical team members.
  2. Assists in the coordination of direct clinical counseling services for the district clinical counseling services team.
  3. Assists in gathering, tracking, compiling and analyzing of data to produce specialized reports, help determine unit needs, adherence of compliance requirements/programing outreach, and effectiveness of clinical services.
  4. Supports the district clinical counseling leadership team in maintaining linkage with community-based partnerships (i.e. external agencies, organizations, and civic and community groups) and providers for appropriate student referrals.
  5. Supports and maintains partnerships with key college stakeholders to help address student mental health care needs.
  6. Helps to promote clinical counseling services to student groups, faculty, and staff by assisting with outreach, training, and educational workshops via in-person or virtual environments to all campus constituency groups regarding policies, procedures, ethics, and best practices in clinical services and support.
  7. Serves as coordinator of mental health resources to address mental health inquiries, and maintains a database of referral resources and community services.
  8. Maintains current, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with district clinical counseling services policies and procedures.
  9. Establishes and documents protocols for receiving and tracking of incoming referrals and requests for clinical services.
  10. Creates efficient systems and workflows for the district clinical services team.
  11. Position may require working remotely, in a virtual environment, and/or at a campus-based location.
