Starting Wage/Salary: $80,000 - $88,000 annually plus exceptional benefits. **This is a grant-funded position with secure funding through September 30, 2029**

Primary Purpose:

This position provides strategic and operational leadership for COCCs Title III and Guided Pathways work, setting a clear vision and purpose, investigating and framing priorities, and supporting project teams to ensure their success. Support project teams with implementing grant activities and manage all budget, compliance, reporting and assessment requirements of the grant. Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Guided Pathways, with an emphasis on faculty engagement with in- and out-of-class Guided Pathways strategies, implementing across all eight Educational Pathways. This is a grant-funded position with secure funding through September 30, 2029


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Leadership
    • Provide strategic and operational leadership for COCCs Title III and Guided Pathways work, setting a clear vision and purpose, investigating and framing priorities, and supporting project teams to ensure their success.
    • Work closely with Title III and Guided Pathways steering teams on progress towards meeting project goals and objectives.
    • Ensure strong communication among work groups to avoid the emergence of overlapping or conflicting directions.
    • Help activity teams identify assessment metrics to ensure success of each initiative.
 
Title III Leadership and Administration
  • Support project teams with implementing grant activities and manage the Title III grant, fostering completion of the work in line with the Colleges mission and strategic plan.
  • Serve as the Colleges lead for grant regulations in order to remain in compliance with grant provisions and as the primary point of contact with the Department of Education Title III Grants Officer.
  • Work with grant evaluator and the Colleges Institutional Effectiveness Office to collect the data required for the evaluation plan. Support grant activity leads in creating regular grant time and effort reporting.
  • Develop and maintain Title III intranet as a source to track progress, key milestone, reports, and related activities.
  • Complete all reporting requirements of the grant, according to timelines required.
  • Create an internal controls manual and work with Fiscal Services to maintain budget oversight, compliance and maintenance of financial records.

Guided Pathways Leadership and Administration
  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of Guided Pathways, with particular emphasis on faculty engagement in Guided Pathways best practices. Partner with Educational Pathway leads to set a clear vision and purpose, investigate and frame priorities, and support the designing of in- and out-of-class strategies, implementing across all eight Educational Pathways.
  • Support existing Guided Pathways development work focused on new student onboarding, communications, academic and career advising and orientation.
  • Develop and regularly track COCCs Guided Pathways assessment plan.
  • Serve as a liaison among all Guided Pathways implementation teams, ensuring all are communicating effectively and on track for implementation.
  • Along with other key Guided Pathways leads, partner with Marketing and Public Relations on redesign of the COCC website, with an emphasis on a Guided Pathways framework.
  • Serve as the Colleges primary spokesperson and actively develop champions for COCCs Guided Pathways work.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues, trends, and best practices used in student success and Guided Pathways in- and out-of-class work.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, time and task oriented, and possess a positive change agent spirit.
  • Ability to provide positive leadership through problem-solving, relationship-building, effective listening, balancing multiple objectives in an environment of constant change and working successfully with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in managing federal grants, including reporting, fiscal oversight and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and public presentation skills. Must be able to communicate effectively in individual and group settings.
  • Ability to promote systemic change that leads to increased student success, retention and engagement.
  • Ability to effectively perform and manage multiple projects and prioritize workload to meet varying deadlines.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with and contribute to a diverse workplace through ideas or experience.
  • Ability to effectively utilize common Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) required; experience with database (e.g., Access) and reporting software (e.g., Argos) preferred.


Minimum Requirements:

Education:
    • Bachelors degree in a discipline offered by Central Oregon Community College.
Experience:
  • Three years experience in any combination of the below:
    • Experience in leading collegewide student success initiatives, with an emphasis on faculty engagement.
    • Experience administering complex grants, including fiscal oversight, regulatory compliance or grant reporting.
    • Project management experience in a higher education setting.


Preferred Qualifications:

Education:
    • Masters degree
Experience:
  • Leadership for or active engagement in implementing Guided Pathways.
  • Experience in a community college setting.
