Primarily, I am a research methodologist. My training, in both qualitative and quantitative frameworks, has pushed me to pursue a third path. This Habermasian pursuit focuses on the deployment of data science interwoven with critical ethnography, forming a type of methodological bricologe. In my current pedagogical role, I focus on teacher training. I help aspiring teachers develop a complex, yet pragmatic understanding of the legal frameworks for Special Education, including IDEA, and Individual Education Planning.
Research Agenda: Educational Endowments with Cryptocurrency
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I research educational funding via cryptocurrency. My work proposes an innovative type of research fund using altcoins. Although not a total funding solution, staking coins, specifically, can be strategically invested in to yield compound interest. These coins use technologies to collateralise the network and speed the pace of transactions. Additionally, these staking coins pay dividends to masternode holders, so an institution that purchases these type of central hubs could potentially engage in a lucrative form of dividend reinvestment. Using cryptocurrencies as a new funding stream, it is possible that simply garnering large amounts of capital and creating a nonprofit “institute” could also be the future of funding scientific research.
